Donation Robot is a representation of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Match Girl in robotic form.

Its precise, curved lines give the model a rounded shape, which required a 3D printing solution capable of the highest resolution and accuracy.

The model measures 26 x 23 x 30 cm, plus some attached parts such as head and arms, and was printed using the DW 030X 3D printer with Invicta DL380 stereolithography resin.

Once removed from the printing platform, the parts were washed for two minutes in water-alcohol solution, then placed in the UV curing unit for 20 minutes.

The supports were then removed, and the model lightly sanded and polished with Vaseline.

The artist next painted the model and fitted the internal electrical components required to animate it.
