HALF TOYS - DIGITALHANDS

Designer: Jang-seok Yoon

Halftoys are 3D-printed educational toys that can be taken apart and rebuilt. The project came about thanks to the partnership between Digital Hands - HDC Korea and a group of digital artists exploring the creative potential of 3D printing.

The Halftoys were created using the DW 020X 3D printer with Precisa DL260 material to obtain the smooth, precise, and detailed surfaces.

After printing, the components were washed in a water-alcohol solution for two minutes, then placed in the UV curing unit for 20 minutes.

Supports were then removed, and the parts were lightly sanded and painted in a variety of colours.

Technology: DW 020X 3D stereolithography printer

Material: Precisa DL260

Build time: 9 hours
